Frequently Asked Questions

Safety & Care

Are you insured and bonded?

Pawhaus KC is insured and bonded by Pet Care Insurance.

What happens in case of an emergency?

If your pet were to get sick or injured, we will do our best to take your pet to your vet to be seen. If your vet is closed or the situation is urgent, we will go to the closest urgent care or veterinarian that is open.

Will my pet be around other animals?

Yes, your pet will be around at least another dog if boarding or coming to daycare. If you need a home without other animals, we can refer to you a sitter that has a fantastic setup for dogs that need to be the only pet.

We feed all animals separately and monitor while eating to know if your pet is eating food. It is not unusual for a pet to go on a hunger-strike for a day at the beginning of their stay with us.

Do you require a Meet and Greet before services?

We do require a meet and greet for Boarding and Doggie Daycare services, as your pet(s) will be interacting with others and be in our home. While not required for our other services, we do recommend meet and greets so you can get to know us, we can discuss your pets needs, and your pet can meet us with you so they know that we are good people.

How do I book a service?

Yes! we offer recurring visits and provide packages and lower weekly rates.

Payments & Policies

What payment methods to you accept?

Pawhaus KC accepts cash, check, credit & debit cards, and Venmo.

When do I need to pay?

Payment must be received prior to the service start. The exception is regular weekly services, where we will auto-charge you the following week.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation requests less than 24 hours in advance will be refunded at 80% of the fee. Cancellation requests more than 24 hours in advance will receive a full-refund.

Boarding

What do I need to bring with my pet for boarding?

The only things you must bring is your pet’s food and any medications. If your pet has a sensitive tummy, we also suggest bringing their treats. You can bring beds, blankets, toys, or dishes if you think that will help the transition, but we also have all these items at our home.

Where will my pet sleep?

Most pets will sleep in a kennel in our finished basement at night. We do this for safety purposes, so animals are not wandering the house in the night and if there were an emergency, we know where everyone is.
